Project time!

We have learned a lot of things about plants, now let's grow one in real life.

Keep in mind that maybe you won't see changes very quickly. At the end of the activity there is a plant journal to record the progress.

Growing plants

There are many plants that can grow easy, you can experiment with any plant or seed that you like and see what happens.

Here's a list of some easy-to-grow plants:

Pumpkin
Broccoli
Beans

I chose to grow a  green onion. If you want to grow a green onion too, follow the instructions below.

Turning an onion into a green onion

Necessary materials:

- An onion
- A transparent jar
- Some water
- Sunlight

Instructions:

First, ask one of your parents to hand you a jar.
Then, put some water in it.
After that, put the onion (roots down) inside the jar and keep it in a safe place with direct sunlight.
