Values: MUSIC

What song are you thankful for?

Music is a form of creative expression.

Music relaxes, energises, and motivates us.

Music and words: the sounds that drive great copy

1.ART PROJECT: painting with music and emotions

Can you take inspiration from a piece of music and use it as a spark to create art?

We are going to create our own art project in combination with different pieces of music. This lets us explore how music can influence our emotions and our mark!

Materials:
  • paper.
  • water colours, paints, colour pencils, markers, etc...
  • your choice of music – see below for suggestions.

Instructions:

1. Set out your materials. This is a good time to have a wide selection of art materials available so you can freely choose the materials that you want to use as you listen music.

2. Then play a piece of music and take inspiration from what you hear.

3. You might play one of your favourite songs, and draw or paint along to it.

4. Try some styles of music that you are less familiar with!
If you want you can also try different music on different days and see how it affects your mood and the art you feel like creating, as you listen.

There’s no right or wrong way to pair your music with your art!

Suggestions:

2. You can also listen to your favourite song and dance with your family!

Move your body and explore your emotions!
When you finish dancing, write 3 songs that make you feel happy on your gratitude journal.

Share your art or some videos dancing with us!
